Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are a man or a woman (not pregnant) between 18 and 75 years old
  • You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
  • Your doctor has recommended you for a first-time total knee replacement using one of two specific knee implant systems: the MicroPort Evolution Medial-Pivot Knee System or the Stryker Triathlon Tritanium system
  • You have never had an artificial joint replacement in the knee being operated on
  • You are currently able to walk, and your other leg does not have any condition that would affect your ability to be assessed in a movement/walking laboratory
  • You are able and willing to attend all required follow-up appointments throughout the study

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your Body Mass Index (BMI) — a measure of body weight relative to height — is above 40
  • You have been diagnosed with a condition where bone tissue dies due to lack of blood supply, or with an inflammatory joint disease (such as rheumatoid arthritis)
  • You have a mental health condition or a nerve/muscle disorder that the doctors feel could increase the risk of complications with the knee implant or recovery (confirm with trial site)
  • You are currently incarcerated (in prison)
  • You have any other condition that the trial doctor believes could affect the results of the study (confirm with trial site)
