Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older
- People who have been diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus (food pipe) or the junction between the oesophagus and stomach
- People whose cancer has been confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy) as a specific cancer type (squamous cell carcinoma or adenocarcinoma), and whose cancer is at stage I through IVa based on standard staging guidelines
- People whose primary cancer treatment was carried out at the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences
- People who are generally active and able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (confirm with trial site for exact definition)
- People with an estimated life expectancy of at least 3 months
- People whose blood, kidney, and liver test results fall within specific acceptable ranges as determined by the trial team
- People who have given their written informed consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer has spread to distant parts of the body such as the liver, lungs, bones, or brain
- People who have had another type of cancer in the past 5 years, except for certain early-stage skin cancers or early cervical cancer (confirm with trial site)
- People who currently have an active infection, such as active tuberculosis or hepatitis
- People who have had a heart attack in the past 6 months, or who have a history of irregular heart rhythms affecting the lower chambers of the heart
- People with serious uncontrolled health conditions, including active infection, heart failure, unstable chest pain, heart rhythm problems, or significant mental health conditions
- People who have had an allergic reaction to paclitaxel, albumin, or cisplatin (medicines used in the trial)
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial, or who have done so within the past 4 weeks
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People whose medical records are unavailable or incomplete
