Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have been diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus (food pipe) or where the esophagus meets the stomach
- Your cancer has been confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy) as a specific type (squamous cell carcinoma or adenocarcinoma), at a stage between I and IVa
- Your primary cancer treatment was carried out at the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences
- You are generally active and able to care for yourself, with only mild limitations on physical activity (confirm with trial site)
- Your doctors expect you to live for at least 3 more months
- Your blood counts, kidney function, liver function, and blood clotting levels are all within acceptable ranges (confirm with trial site for specific values)
- You are willing and able to give informed consent to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- Your cancer has spread to distant parts of the body such as the liver, lungs, bones, or brain
- You have been diagnosed with another cancer in the past 5 years (except for certain early-stage skin cancers or cervical pre-cancer)
- You currently have an active infection such as active tuberculosis or hepatitis
- You have had a heart attack in the last 6 months, or have a history of certain irregular heart rhythms
- You have an uncontrolled illness, including serious heart problems, unstable chest pain, uncontrolled infections, or a significant mental health condition
- You have had an allergic reaction to paclitaxel, albumin, or cisplatin (medicines used in this trial)
- You are currently in another clinical trial, or have been in one within the last 4 weeks
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You do not have accessible medical records
