Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with peripheral artery disease (a condition where the arteries supplying blood to the limbs become narrowed or blocked), confirmed in one or more of the following ways:
- People who experience leg pain when walking (called intermittent claudication), where a significant blockage or narrowing has been found in the leg arteries, or where a special blood flow test in the legs has shown an abnormal result
- People who have a severe form of reduced blood flow to the limbs (called critical limb ischemia), where a significant blockage or narrowing has been found in the leg arteries, or where a special blood flow test has shown an abnormal result
- People who have a narrowing of at least 50% in one of the main arteries in the neck (carotid artery)
- People who have a bulge or enlargement in the main abdominal artery (aorta) of 3 cm or larger
- People who have previously had a procedure to restore blood flow in the leg or neck arteries, or who have been treated for an aortic aneurysm
Who may not be able to join:
- People who do not wish to sign the consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
