Who might be able to join this trial:
- Your stroke symptoms fall within a specific range of severity — not too mild and not too severe — based on a standard stroke scale score (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:
- You have had a brain bleed in the affected area of the brain within the past 6 weeks
- You have previously had a stent placed in the affected blood vessel
- Your neurological symptoms had already fully recovered by the time of the procedure
- You are allergic to or cannot take certain medications or materials used in the procedure, including heparin, aspirin, clopidogrel, rapamycin, certain plastics, stainless steel, anaesthetics, or contrast dye
- Your blood test results show very low haemoglobin (a measure of red blood cells), very low platelets, or abnormal clotting levels that cannot be corrected
- Your blood sugar level is either dangerously low or dangerously high at the time of the procedure
- You have seriously reduced liver or kidney function, based on specific blood test results
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have a previous history of mental illness
- Your stroke happened alongside another serious illness, or occurred as a complication of another surgery
- You have a very slow heart rate, certain types of heart rhythm problems (unless you have a pacemaker), or very low blood pressure even while receiving medication to raise it
