Who might be able to join this trial:

• People between 25 and 75 years old
• People who have already been diagnosed with osteoarthritis (joint wear and tear) in the shoulder joint (where the upper arm bone meets the shoulder socket)
• People who can understand and communicate in English well enough to understand what the procedure involves
• People who are able to give their informed agreement to participate
• People who are able to complete follow-up surveys online, by phone, or in person
• People who are able to understand instructions for care before and after the procedure
• People who are able to walk around on their own at the start of the trial
• People who have already tried at least 6 weeks of physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medications (if suitable for them), with or without bracing or injections, and have not had enough improvement from those treatments

Who may not be able to join:

• People younger than 25 or older than 75 years old
• People whose shoulder X-rays show very little or no osteoarthritis, or very severe osteoarthritis where the bones are rubbing directly together
• People who have previously had a full or partial shoulder joint replacement, or surgery to regrow cartilage in the joint
• People who have received a cortisone, PRP, or hyaluronic acid injection into the joint within the past 3 months
• People who have an inflammatory or rheumatological condition such as rheumatoid arthritis
• People who are currently taking medication that affects the immune system
• People who have an uncontrolled hormonal or gland-related condition (such as uncontrolled thyroid or diabetes-related disorders) (confirm with trial site)
• People with a BMI over 40, or whose joint space cannot be seen clearly on ultrasound
• People with a current bone infection, HIV, hepatitis C, active infection, or poorly controlled diabetes (with a blood sugar marker called HbA1c above 7.0)
• People who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
• People who have previously had a stem cell injection into the shoulder joint being considered for the trial
• People who are scheduled for shoulder surgery or any other surgery that might affect the trial results
• People who have a blood clotting disorder or are taking blood-thinning medication
• People experiencing long-term pain across multiple parts of the body, or who are being treated with opioid pain medications
• People who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia
• People who have a large rotator cuff tear involving two or more tendons that have pulled away from their normal position
