Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 30 and 65 years old
- People who have pain or other symptoms of osteoarthritis specifically in the kneecap area (called patellofemoral osteoarthritis), in one or both knees

Who may not be able to join:
- People who are not able to give their own consent to participate
- People who have had an injection of any substance into the knee joint within the past 6 months
- People who have had knee surgery within the past 12 months
- People who have or have had a cancer diagnosis
- People who have a rheumatic disease (such as rheumatoid arthritis)
- People who have diabetes
- People who have a blood clotting or bleeding disorder
- People who are currently taking blood-thinning or anti-clotting medications
- People who have a thyroid condition affecting their metabolism
- People who have issues with alcohol, drug, or medication misuse
- People with a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 35
- People who have taken anti-inflammatory painkillers (such as ibuprofen or naproxen) in the 3 days before their blood is taken
- People with a heart or cardiovascular condition for which having 60 mL of blood drawn would be considered unsafe
- People whose recent blood test shows low red blood cell or platelet levels
- People who have previously been treated for a dislocated kneecap
- People whose kneecap joint damage is at the most severe stage (Grade 4 on the Iwano scale)
