Who might be able to join this trial:

This trial involves a registry called PRECEDE for people being assessed for pancreatic cancer (PDAC) risk. There are several groups that may be eligible:

• People with no personal history of pancreatic cancer who have two or more relatives with pancreatic cancer on the same side of the family, where at least two of those relatives are closely related to each other and at least one is a close (first-degree) relative, and who are aged 50 or older, or up to 10 years younger than the youngest family member diagnosed
• People with no personal history of pancreatic cancer who have two close (first-degree) relatives with pancreatic cancer, and who are aged 50 or older, or up to 10 years younger than the youngest family member diagnosed
• People with no personal history of pancreatic cancer who carry a change (variant) in one of the genes BRCA1, BRCA2, PALB2, ATM, MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, PMS2, or EPCAM, and have at least one close or extended family member with pancreatic cancer, and who are aged 50 or older, or up to 10 years younger than the youngest family member diagnosed
• People with a condition called Familial Atypical Moles and Malignant Melanoma (FAMMM) and a CDKN2A gene variant, aged 40 or older
• People with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome and an STK11 gene variant, aged 35 or older
• People with hereditary pancreatitis and a PRSS1 gene variant with a history of pancreatitis, aged 40 or older
• People with no personal history of pancreatic cancer who carry a variant in ATM, BRCA1, BRCA2, or PALB2, regardless of family history, aged 50 or older
• People with no personal history of pancreatic cancer who have two or more relatives with pancreatic cancer on the same side of the family (any degree of relation) not covered by the above groups, aged 50 or older, or up to 10 years younger than the youngest family member diagnosed
• People with no personal history of pancreatic cancer who have one close (first-degree) relative diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at age 45 or younger, and who are up to 10 years younger than that relative was at diagnosis
• People who meet the above family or genetic criteria but are currently too young to qualify for the main groups (confirm with trial site)
• People being assessed for pancreatic cancer risk who do not meet any of the above criteria (confirm with trial site)
• People with no personal history of pancreatic cancer who are not currently in a pancreas monitoring program at a participating site — these individuals may be invited to contribute a biological sample (such as blood, saliva, or a cheek swab) for research; this may include relatives of people already enrolled
• People who are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer or a pre-cancerous pancreatic condition after joining the registry, and who have at least one close family member with pancreatic cancer, or a relevant inherited gene variant listed above
• People with a personal history of pancreatic cancer or a pre-cancerous pancreatic condition who have at least one close family member with pancreatic cancer, a relevant inherited gene variant, or who were diagnosed at age 45 or younger
• People with a newly diagnosed early-stage (Stage I or Stage II) pancreatic cancer seen at a participating site, even if they do not meet the family history or genetic criteria above
• People with pancreatic cancer seen at a participating site who do not fit into the more specific groups above
• People with a personal history of a pancreatic cyst (cystic neoplasm) who have no known family history of pancreatic cancer and no known inherited gene variants linked to pancreatic cancer risk

Who may not be able to join:

• People who do not meet any of the criteria described above
