Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older
- You have been diagnosed with stage 3 or stage 4 lung cancer (a type called non-small cell lung cancer), esophageal cancer, or a cancer of the lymph system (lymphoma), and your doctors plan to treat it with the goal of curing the disease
- You are reasonably physically active and able to carry out daily activities (this is measured on a standard scale rated 0–2, where 0 means fully active and 2 means able to care for yourself but unable to do heavy work — confirm with trial site)
- You are willing and able to sign a form giving your consent to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a facial difference or deformity that would make it impossible to wear a fitted face mask used during treatment
- You do not meet one or more of the requirements listed above
- Your planned radiation treatment uses higher doses per session (3 or more units called Gray per session — confirm with trial site)
- You have severe heart failure where your heart is pumping at less than 30% of its normal capacity
