Who might be able to join this trial:
- People diagnosed with follicular lymphoma (a type of slow-growing blood cancer) confirmed as grade 1, 2, or 3A through laboratory testing of tissue samples
- People who have already received at least one prior treatment for their lymphoma
- People who have at least one measurable area of disease that can be tracked during the trial
- People aged 18 or older
- People who are reasonably physically active and able to carry out daily activities (as assessed by a standard medical scale called ECOG, scoring 0 to 2)
- People with a life expectancy of more than 3 months
- People who are able to take part in all required study visits and procedures
- People whose major organs (such as heart, liver, and kidneys) are functioning adequately
Who may not be able to join:
- People who need to take the blood-thinning medication warfarin, or who have had a stroke or bleeding in the brain within the past 6 months
- People whose follicular lymphoma has transformed (changed) into a more aggressive type of lymphoma
- People whose lymphoma has spread to the central nervous system (brain or spinal cord)
- People who have previously received a donor stem cell transplant (though a prior stem cell transplant using the person's own cells is allowed)
- People who have previously been treated with ibrutinib or any other BTK inhibitor medications
- People with an active, uncontrolled infection (except for fever directly related to the tumour)
- People who have received certain recent treatments too close to the start of the trial — including some chemotherapy, radiation, antibody therapies, or major surgery — within specific timeframes (confirm with trial site for exact timeframes)
- People whose lymphoma got worse or stopped responding while they were being treated with a type of drug called a PI3K inhibitor (however, people who had to stop PI3K inhibitor treatment due to side effects, but were responding to it, may still be considered)
- People who need to take certain strong medications that affect how the body processes drugs (known as strong CYP3A inhibitors) (confirm with trial site for specific medications)
- People with significant heart problems, such as uncontrolled irregular heartbeat, heart failure, or a heart attack within the past 6 months
- People with active hepatitis B or hepatitis C infections — although people with stable, treated hepatitis B or fully cleared hepatitis C may be considered depending on specific test results (confirm with trial site)
