Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults over 18 years of age who are scheduled to have a colonoscopy and have given written consent to take part in the trial
- People who have at least one flat or slightly raised abnormal growth (lesion) in the colon or rectum that appears non-cancerous based on its surface pattern when examined under the colonoscope
- The lesion must have a surface texture that is either bumpy/granular or smooth/flat, and fall within a specific shape classification used by specialists (confirm with trial site)
- If any raised portion of the lesion is present, it must be no larger than 10mm
- The lesion must measure between 15mm and 40mm in size
Who may not be able to join:
- People currently taking blood-thinning medications (other than aspirin) or anti-clotting medications that have not been safely paused ahead of the procedure, as per medical guidelines
- People with a known disorder affecting how their blood clots
- People who are pregnant
- People with a history of inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis)
- People whose lesion has been previously treated or does not lift properly during the procedure, which can indicate deeper involvement
- People whose lesion shows signs under the colonoscope that may suggest it has grown deeper into the bowel wall, or where bowel cancer is also present
- People whose lesion is located at certain specific areas of the bowel, including near the appendix opening, the junction between the small and large bowel, or the lower end of the rectum (confirm with trial site)
