Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are male and aged 18 or older
- People who have been diagnosed with intermediate or high-risk prostate cancer (confirmed by biopsy), specifically a Gleason grade group of 2 or higher
- People whose doctor is considering surgery to remove the prostate (radical prostatectomy) as a treatment aimed at curing the cancer, planned within 6 months of having an mpMRI scan
- People who have given written consent to participate in the trial
- People whose health and circumstances allow them to have an MRI scan using a 3 Tesla (3T) magnet
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose prostate cancer is considered low-risk
- People who have already received any treatment for prostate cancer
- People who have had another active cancer diagnosis within the past 2 years
- People whose prostate cancer includes certain rare cell types, such as sarcomatoid, spindle cell, or neuroendocrine small cell components (confirm with trial site)
- People who have a cardiac pacemaker
- People who have metal implants or hardware in the pelvis or spine
- People who experience claustrophobia or who require anaesthesia for medical imaging
- People who are unable to have an endorectal coil used during their scan — for example, due to rectal bleeding, severe anal fissures or haemorrhoids, prior anal or rectal surgery, or the absence of a rectum
