Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 25 and 65 years old.
- You have a confirmed diagnosis of Down Syndrome (note: mosaic Down Syndrome does not qualify).
- You, or a legal guardian or authorized representative on your behalf, are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
- You have been medically stable and on the same medications for at least the past 3 months.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have been diagnosed with both Down Syndrome and Autism.
- You have had a seizure or epilepsy in the past 24 months.
- You have been recently diagnosed with ADHD (within the last 6 months) or have ADHD that is currently untreated.
- You are currently taking medication to prevent or control seizures.
- You have had a stroke within the past 24 months.
- You have a known history of migraine headaches.
- You are currently taking medications that are known to lower the threshold for seizures, such as certain antibiotics or some antidepressants (confirm with trial site for a full list).
- You have significant risk of suicide or have made a suicide attempt in the past year.
- You have behavioural challenges such as aggression, agitation, or impulsivity that may make it difficult to follow the study's requirements.
- You are currently taking psychiatric medications, such as antidepressants or antipsychotics.
- You have an implanted medical device, such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, deep brain stimulator, or sacral nerve stimulator.
- You have a serious hearing or vision problem that has not been corrected.
- You are currently pregnant.
