Who might be able to join this trial:

• Adults aged 18 or older who are male, or female and neither pregnant nor breastfeeding
• People who have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease (CD) or ulcerative colitis (UC) for at least 6 months, confirmed by their treating doctor
• People currently being treated with an approved medication for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), such as biologics (for example, TNF blockers, ustekinumab, or vedolizumab) or certain newer tablet-based treatments (for example, JAK inhibitors or ozanimod)
• People whose IBD medication dose has been stable for 3 or more months before their qualifying scan or camera test, with no increases in medication or new medications added between that test and the start of the trial
• People whose IBD symptoms are well controlled (in remission) without the use of steroids, based on a short patient-reported symptom score, as judged by their treating doctor
• People whose most recent bowel camera test (such as a colonoscopy) or imaging scan (such as an MRI or CT) — done within the past 6 months — shows moderate to severe inflammation inside the bowel, based on specific scoring systems (confirm with trial site)
• People for whom at least one other approved IBD medication (different from their current one) would be considered appropriate to use by their doctor under approved prescribing guidelines
• People who are able to take part fully in all parts of the trial
• People who have given written informed consent to participate

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have a stoma (ostomy bag) or an internal pouch (ileoanal pouch) as a result of bowel surgery
• People who have another serious health condition, unrelated to UC or CD, that the trial doctor believes could affect their ability to take part fully
• People with a history of alcohol or drug misuse, or any other health condition the trial doctor believes could affect their ability to follow the trial procedures
• People who have previously been enrolled in this same trial
• People whose bowel inflammation is only mild on their camera test, where their treating doctor would not normally consider changing their current IBD medication
