For patients:

  • You must be 18 years old or older
  • You must have been diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease)
  • You must already be receiving regular check-ups every 3 months at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana, Division of Neurophysiology
  • You must be able to visit the study location in person every 3 months

For family members (relatives):

  • You must be 18 years old or older

For patients:

  • You may not be eligible if you have another illness or condition (separate from ALS) that affects your ability to swallow
  • You may not be eligible if you are showing significant signs of memory loss or dementia at the time of joining, as assessed by the study neurologist

For family members (relatives):

  • You may not be eligible if you are showing signs of possible memory loss or dementia at the time of joining
