Who may not be able to join:

• You have HIV, hepatitis, significant liver disease, an active infection, anemia, an organ transplant, kidney disease requiring dialysis, a lung condition requiring oxygen, a significant heart defect present from birth, any type of cancer, or an untreated thyroid condition
• You have been diagnosed with a rare condition called carnosinemia (a metabolic disorder — confirm with trial site)
• You have a known allergy to L-carnosine or meat
• You have a pacemaker
• You have obesity caused by a known genetic condition
• You have dementia
• You have severely reduced blood flow to a limb and have had an amputation below or above the knee
• You have foot ulcers (open sores on your feet)
• You have had a major amputation
• You are currently taking part in another clinical trial
• You have end-stage kidney disease
• You have had a significant injury within the past 30 days
• You are currently a prisoner
• You have any metal implants in your body
• You have poorly controlled diabetes, based on a blood sugar measurement called HbA1c being above 9%
