- People who have ever been diagnosed with intellectual disability, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, or any other condition involving the progressive loss of nerve function
- People who currently have a general health condition or a condition affecting the brain or nervous system that could affect thinking or response to treatment
- People who have had problems with substance misuse or dependence in the past six months
- People who have a history of seizures
- People who have received a brain stimulation treatment called TMS in the past three months, or a treatment called ECT in the past six months
- People who are currently pregnant
- People for whom an MRI scan would not be safe (for example, due to metal implants or other medical reasons) (confirm with trial site)
