Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are a woman aged 18 or older
  • You have been diagnosed with breast cancer (any stage from I to IV)
  • You are currently taking hormone-blocking medication for breast cancer, such as tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors, with or without medication to suppress ovary function
  • You have noticed hair loss that started after you began taking your hormone-blocking medication

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are currently receiving chemotherapy, or have had chemotherapy within the last 2 years
  • You have a history of a specific type of permanent scarring hair loss condition, or a condition called alopecia areata (confirm with trial site)
  • You have previously used minoxidil in pill or cream/liquid form (the medication being studied)
  • You are currently using or have previously used a medication called spironolactone
  • You have a known allergy or sensitivity to minoxidil
  • You have an untreated underactive thyroid or untreated low iron levels — blood tests may be needed to check this at the time of joining if you have not had them done in the past 12 months
