Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with epithelial ovarian cancer confirmed by a pathology test
- People who have already completed standard first-line treatment for their ovarian cancer, which for advanced cases includes surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible, followed by platinum-based chemotherapy
- People who have 10 or fewer areas of cancer spread (metastases) in the body, where nearby lesions may be counted as one if they can be treated together in a single radiation plan
- People whose individual areas of cancer spread are each no larger than 5 cm across
- People aged 19 years or older
- People whose blood test results within the past 60 days show adequate bone marrow function — specifically, enough white blood cells (neutrophils), platelets, and haemoglobin (note: blood transfusions to maintain haemoglobin levels are permitted)
- People who are able to carry out basic daily activities with minimal or no assistance, as measured by a standard performance scale, within the past 60 days (confirm with trial site)
- People who are willing to provide written consent to participate in the study before it begins
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer has spread to the brain
- People with widespread cancer spread throughout the lining of the abdominal cavity (diffuse peritoneal carcinomatosis)
- People who have a confirmed malignant fluid build-up around the lungs (malignant pleural effusion)
- People who have previously received radiation therapy to any areas of cancer spread
- People whose areas of cancer spread do not have clearly defined boundaries, making precise radiation targeting difficult
- People who have had another invasive cancer in the past, unless they have been free of that cancer for more than 3 years — thyroid cancer, early-stage cervical cancer (CIS), basal cell skin cancer, and early gastric cancer are exceptions to this rule
- People who are pregnant
- People with serious heart conditions, including unstable chest pain or heart failure requiring hospitalisation in the past 6 months, or a significant heart attack in the past 6 months
- People who have an active serious bacterial or fungal infection requiring intravenous antibiotics at the time of enrolment
- People who have a flare-up of a chronic lung condition or other breathing problem that requires hospitalisation or would make it difficult to complete the treatment, at the time of enrolment
