Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with a type of mild memory and thinking problem called mild cognitive impairment (the "amnestic" type)
- You either have a history of a mild traumatic brain injury (such as a concussion) OR you have no such history — both groups may be included
- Both women and men can take part
- People of all racial and ethnic backgrounds are welcome
- You are 55 years of age or older
- You can speak and understand English fluently
Who may not be able to join:
- You had a mild traumatic brain injury (such as a concussion) within the past year
- You have ever had a moderate or severe brain injury at any point in your life
- You have ever been diagnosed with a major brain or nervous system condition, such as a stroke, epilepsy, or a brain tumor
- You have ever had a major heart condition, such as a heart attack or heart failure
- You are currently struggling with a substance use disorder (for example, alcohol or drug dependency)
- You currently have a major mental health condition, such as severe depression or bipolar disorder
- You currently have vision or hearing problems that would make it difficult to complete the study tests
- You have any metal or electronic implants in your skull or brain (for example, certain types of medical devices)
- You are currently taking medication known to affect how the brain responds to a specific type of mild electrical brain stimulation used in this study (confirm with trial site)
