Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 75 years of age or older at the time of signing the consent form
- People who are considered healthy or only mildly frail based on a medical check-up and two standard geriatric assessments (called G8 and miniCOG™), which measure overall health and thinking ability in older adults
- People who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer within the last 6 months, where the cancer is either a high-grade type (Gleason grade 8–10, meaning a more aggressive form that is visible or able to be felt on examination) or a locally advanced type (meaning the cancer has grown beyond the prostate but has not spread to other parts of the body)
- People who are able to read, understand, and complete health-related quality-of-life questionnaires
- People who are male
- People who are able to give their informed consent and follow the requirements of the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People living with dementia or those who are unable to give informed consent
- People who have previously had radiation treatment to the pelvic area
- People who have been on hormone therapy for more than 3 months before the point of joining the trial
- People whose scans (MRI, CT, or PSMA-PET CT) show that the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes
- People whose scans (MRI, CT, bone scan, or PSMA-PET CT) show that the cancer has spread to distant parts of the body
- People who are significantly disabled or have serious other health conditions, as identified by the G8 health screening tool
- People who are unable to read, understand, or complete health-related quality-of-life questionnaires
