Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs) confirmed by a heart procedure called a right heart catheterization, OR you have scleroderma (a connective tissue disease) without pulmonary hypertension confirmed by an ultrasound of the heart
- Alternatively, you may be eligible as a "control" participant if you are between 18 and 75 years old and are considered low risk for heart or lung problems now or in the future
Who may not be able to join:
- You are a current smoker
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You are under 18 years old
- You are unable to read and understand the consent forms for the study
- You have a history of an allergic reaction to CT scan contrast dye
- You are unable to lie still for an extended period of time
- You experience claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces)
- You have had significant exposure to radiation in your workplace
- You drink more than 2 to 3 alcoholic drinks per week
- You have previously worked in certain occupations, including coal mining, painting, iron mining, mill work, or working with asbestos, insulation, heat-resistant materials, or sand
- You have a heart or lung condition that the lead doctor believes would make it unsafe for you to participate (confirm with trial site)
- If applying as a control participant, you also cannot have a family history of pulmonary hypertension or scleroderma
