Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with probable Lewy Body Dementia, Alzheimer's Disease, or Mild Cognitive Impairment (either Lewy Body or Alzheimer's type) — OR you are cognitively normal for your age and education level
- You scored above 26 on a standard memory and thinking test called the MMSE (this applies to those joining as a healthy volunteer)
- You have a good understanding of the English language
- You have a carer or family member who can be present during testing sessions (this applies to those joining as a patient, not a healthy volunteer)
Who may not be able to join:
- Your dementia is considered severe, or you scored below 12 on the MMSE memory and thinking test
- You have a condition that affects how your body processes substances or regulates blood flow, such as a metabolic or breathing disorder
- You have a significant inflammatory or immune system condition, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus, or you regularly take steroid tablets by mouth
- You have a significant mental health or psychiatric disorder
- Your memory or thinking problems are caused by something other than Alzheimer's or Lewy Body disease, such as a head injury, vascular dementia, or fronto-temporal dementia
- You have a history of heavy or excessive drug or alcohol use
- You have anything in or on your body that is not safe in an MRI scanner, such as a pacemaker (this applies to patients having an MRI scan) (confirm with trial site)
- You are considered to have a level of obesity that may affect MRI scanning (confirm with trial site)
