Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older who have been diagnosed with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis and for whom vedolizumab treatment has been indicated
- People who are willing to take part in the study and sign the consent form
- People who have never previously been treated with vedolizumab
- People who have either never received biologic therapy, or who stopped a previous biologic therapy more than 12 weeks ago
- People who have not taken antibiotics or probiotics in the past 4 weeks
Who may not be able to join:
- People under 18 years of age
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who would need the help of another person to complete the trial on their behalf, or who are otherwise unable to complete the trial independently
- People with other health conditions that, in the opinion of the trial investigator, make participation unsuitable or could affect the ability to complete the study (confirm with trial site)
- People who have taken antibiotics or probiotics within the past 4 weeks
- People who have previously received vedolizumab treatment
