Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 13 to 21 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with an eating disorder that involves binge eating and/or purging — such as Anorexia Nervosa (binge/purge type), Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, or a similar condition — based on standard medical diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5)
- People whose medication has stayed the same, with no changes to doses or drugs in the past 4 weeks
- People who are willing and able to give their agreement to take part in the study — and if the person is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must also give their agreement
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are pregnant (as confirmed by a urine test)
- People who have previously had a severe allergic reaction to the drug naltrexone (such as anaphylaxis)
- People who have permanent metal objects in their body that are not safe to use in an MRI scanner
- People who are currently taking naltrexone
- People who have used opioid drugs (such as certain pain medications or illicit opioids) in the past 7 days
- People whose primary language is not English, if this would prevent them from communicating or completing all parts of the study
