Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been admitted to hospital with a blockage in a large blood vessel in the brain and are being treated with a device called the Tigertriever, according to its approved instructions for use.
• People for whom the Tigertriever was used as the first treatment attempted in the affected blood vessel.
• People who have provided signed informed consent to participate.
• People aged between 18 and 75 years (inclusive).
• People who had little to no disability before their stroke (a pre-stroke score of 0 or 1 on a standard disability scale).

Who may not be able to join:

• People who had any other device used to clear the blocked vessel before the Tigertriever was used, including suction-based catheters.
• People who showed signs of bleeding in the brain on a CT or MRI scan at the time of admission.
• People who have had a brain bleed, stroke, clot-dissolving treatment, or a procedure to open blocked blood vessels within the past 3 months.
• People with a suspected condition called cerebral amyloid angiopathy (a disease affecting blood vessels in the brain — confirm with trial site).
• People who were diagnosed with dementia before their stroke, or who were taking a type of medication called cholinesterase inhibitors prior to their stroke.
• People who were diagnosed with, or were being treated for, major depression before their stroke.
• People who had a learning or intellectual disability before their stroke.
• People who are not expected to be available for a follow-up assessment at 6 months after treatment.
