For people with Alzheimer's disease:
- You are between 50 and 90 years old (any sex)

Who may not be able to join:
For people with Alzheimer's disease:
- You are unable to have an MRI or PET scan for any reason, including severe fear of enclosed spaces
- You have had a large stroke, serious brain injury, multiple sclerosis, or another significant brain condition that could affect the study results
- You are pregnant, or if there is any chance you could be pregnant, you must take a pregnancy test on the day of any PET scan and receive a doctor's approval before proceeding
- You have had a high level of radiation exposure from research studies in the past 12 months (confirm with trial site)
For healthy volunteers:
- You are unable to have an MRI or PET scan for any reason, including severe fear of enclosed spaces
- You have any brain condition, other than ordinary headaches
- You currently have a significant mental health diagnosis (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently taking psychiatric medications or anti-seizure medications
- You have had a substance abuse problem in the past two years
- You currently have cancer, a serious metabolic condition, an active infection, or heart disease
- You have active problems with your blood, kidneys, lungs, hormones, or liver — except for a thyroid condition that is already being treated
- You are pregnant, or if there is any chance you could be pregnant, you must take a pregnancy test on the day of any PET scan and receive a doctor's approval before proceeding
- You have had a high level of radiation exposure from research studies in the past 12 months (confirm with trial site)
- If your participation involves a specific medication called selegiline: you have a known allergy to selegiline, or you take certain painkillers (such as meperidine) or certain antidepressants (such as bupropion) (confirm with trial site)
