Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are starting, or have recently started (within the last 2 weeks), a type of prostate cancer hormone therapy called an androgen receptor axis-targeted therapy (ARAT), or who are switching to a different ARAT because their previous one stopped working or caused side effects
  • People who have been diagnosed with either metastatic prostate cancer (cancer that has spread, whether or not it responds to hormone-lowering treatment) or non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (cancer that has not spread but is no longer responding to hormone-lowering treatment)
  • People who are at least 65 years old
  • People who are able to give written consent to participate
  • People who have access to a working telephone

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are not able to speak English, as the support calls from the nurse are conducted by phone and the study materials are not available in other languages
  • People who have been diagnosed with a serious mental health or cognitive condition, such as severe depression or moderate-to-severe dementia
  • People whose oncologist estimates their life expectancy to be less than 3 months
