Who might be able to join this trial:
- You self-identify as African American or Black
- You are 60 years of age or older
- You are able to speak, read, and understand English
- You are able to be available for the full length of the study
- You are able to walk on your own without a wheelchair, walker, or cane
- You currently do less than 60 minutes of physical activity per week (based on a short activity questionnaire)
- You score within a specific range on a telephone-based memory and thinking test called the TICS-M (confirm with trial site)
- You score between 20 and 26 on an in-person memory and thinking test called the MoCA
- You have written approval from your own doctor to take part in physical activity for this study
Who may not be able to join:
- You have color blindness, as some study tasks use color as a guide
- You have been diagnosed with any neurological condition, including chronic headaches or nerve damage in the hands or feet
- You have been diagnosed with, or report having, major depression, schizophrenia, delusional disorder, schizoaffective disorder, psychosis, or other significant mental health conditions that could affect your ability to complete the study
- You have had a substance use disorder or received treatment for one in the past five years
- You have undergone chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer
- You are planning to have general anesthesia at any point during the study
- You have a Geriatric Depression Scale score of 5 or higher (confirm with trial site)
- You have conditions that make exercise unsafe, such as bone or joint problems, a heart attack, heart bypass surgery, angioplasty, or other heart-related events in the past year
- You are currently being treated for heart failure, chest pain (angina), uncontrolled irregular heartbeat, or blood clots in the legs
- You have uncontrolled high blood pressure with readings above 180/110 mmHg at rest
