Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You must be 18 years of age or older
  • You must have had your first-ever stroke (specifically an ischemic stroke affecting the front part of the brain), confirmed by a routine MRI scan
  • You must be enrolled within 10 days of when your stroke happened

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have had a previous stroke at any point in the past, either known from your medical history or seen on brain scans
  • You have also had a stroke in the back part of the brain (posterior circulation) in addition to the front
  • You have a condition that would make it difficult to complete memory and thinking tests, such as confusion, being on a breathing machine, or being very difficult to wake (confirm with trial site)
  • You have a neurological or mental health condition that could affect how test results are understood — for example, dementia before the stroke, schizophrenia, a brain tumor, regularly taking a type of sedative medication called benzodiazepines, or depression
  • You are unable to have an MRI scan for any reason (for example, having a certain type of metal implant)
  • Your native language is not German, French, or Italian
