Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with aphasia (difficulty with language and communication) lasting more than 6 months, caused by a stroke that affected the left side of the brain.
- People whose results on a specific language assessment test (the Comprehensive Aphasia Test) show difficulties in at least 2 out of 8 areas tested.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a history of other brain or nervous system conditions that were either acquired (such as a brain injury) or are progressive (such as a degenerative disease).
- People who have significant difficulties understanding language.
- People who have a drug or alcohol dependence that is not currently being managed or treated.
- People who have been diagnosed with a serious mood or behavioural disorder that requires specialised mental health treatment.
