Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are already scheduled to receive a specific type of medical imaging scan (called an 18F FDG PET/CT scan) as part of your normal medical care
- You are 18 years old or older and able to make your own decisions about taking part
Who may not be able to join:
- You have diabetes or your blood sugar level is too high (above a certain level measured after fasting)
- You have not gone without eating or drinking for more than 4 hours before the scan
- You have done any physical exercise in the 24 hours before the scan
- You have previously had radiotherapy or chemotherapy to treat cancer
- You currently have an active infection or inflammation, such as a fever or raised levels of a marker called CRP in your blood
- You have any condition — such as a fear of enclosed spaces (claustrophobia) — that would make it difficult for you to lie still for the full length of the scan
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
