Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 45 and 80 years old
- You have been diagnosed with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease
- You have an adequate level of cognitive (thinking and memory) ability as assessed by the trial team
- Your routine blood and lab test results are within a normal range
- You are able to understand and willingly sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- Your memory problems are not caused by a tumor or other separate disease
- Any other health conditions you have are well-managed, and your medications have been stable for at least 3 months
- You are in generally good overall health
- You have a family member or caregiver who can support you during the trial
- You are able to have a small amount of fat tissue removed (a minor procedure) to be used in creating the treatment
- Your caregiver also meets the trial's own separate requirements for caregivers (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- You are taking medications for Alzheimer's disease other than certain allowed ones — donepezil, memantine, AChEIs (including patches), Vitamin E, fish oil, and/or ginkgo biloba are permitted if the dose has been unchanged for at least 3 months before screening
- You have received any type of stem cell treatment in the past 3 months
- You have a device called a ventriculoperitoneal shunt already in place in your brain
- You have a neurological (brain or nervous system) condition other than Alzheimer's disease
- You have a psychiatric condition such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or delirium
- You have had a problem with drug or alcohol misuse or dependence within the past 5 years
- You have had a cancer diagnosis within the past 5 years
- You do not have a caregiver available who meets the trial's requirements for caregivers
