Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer that has come back for the first time
- Your cancer is the type that grows from the lining of the organs (called epithelial), at any original stage
- Your cancer came back at least 6 months after you finished your last platinum-based chemotherapy treatment
- Your cancer got worse while you were taking a PARP inhibitor maintenance treatment
- You are a woman aged 18 or older
- A specialist surgeon believes it is likely that all visible cancer can be completely removed by surgery
- Your scan results (using a scoring system called AGO-score or iMODEL+PET/CT) suggest surgery could fully remove the cancer, OR your surgeon and a specialist radiologist both agree complete removal is likely even if the score is not positive (confirm with trial site)
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part and to allow your data to be used
Who may not be able to join:
- Your cancer is not the epithelial type, or has been classified as a "borderline" tumour
- You do not currently have a recurrence and are being considered for a check-up or clean-up surgery after chemotherapy
- You have had more than one course of chemotherapy in the past
- Your cancer has come back more than once before (second, third, or later recurrence)
- You have or have had another cancer that was treated with abdominal surgery, or another cancer whose treatment could interfere with treating your ovarian cancer or significantly affect your outlook
- Your cancer is considered "platinum-refractory," meaning it progressed during platinum chemotherapy or came back within 6 months of finishing your first platinum-based treatment
- Only palliative (comfort-focused, non-curative) surgery is being planned for you
- Your scans show cancer that cannot be fully removed by surgery
- You have another health condition that would make surgery or chemotherapy unsafe for you
- Your medical history suggests you would face very high risks during or after surgery
- You are currently taking a medication that could cause serious problems during surgery, for example blood thinners or certain cancer drugs that increase bleeding risk (confirm with trial site)
- There is no stored tumour tissue available from your previous diagnosis that can be tested
