Who might be able to join this trial:
For patients:
- You have been diagnosed with a condition called ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease), based on recognised medical guidelines
- Your ALS has progressed to a point where your doctor has recommended a type of breathing support machine used at home (called long-term mechanical ventilation)
- You are able to communicate in Norwegian
For partners of ALS patients:
- You are the partner of someone who has ALS and whose illness has progressed to the point where their doctor has recommended home breathing support
- You are able to communicate in Norwegian
For children of ALS patients:
- You are 8 years old or older and have a parent who has ALS, and whose illness has progressed to the point where their doctor has recommended home breathing support
- You are able to communicate in Norwegian
Who may not be able to join:
- Patients, partners, or children who have significant memory or thinking difficulties, or who have been diagnosed with dementia, may not be eligible to take part
