- The child must be 6 months old
- The child must be generally healthy, with no significant medical conditions and no concerning findings from their health history or a physical check-up

- The child has received a live vaccine (a vaccine made with a weakened live virus) in the 4 weeks before joining the trial
- The parent or guardian does not want their child to be vaccinated
- There is already a medical reason for the child to receive the MMR vaccine early, such as a measles outbreak, planned treatment that will weaken the immune system, or upcoming travel to an area with a high risk of measles
- The child needs the MMRV vaccine (which also covers chickenpox) instead of MMR, for example due to severe eczema or the parent's preference
- The parent or guardian is unable to follow the study procedures, for example due to language barriers, psychological difficulties, or other concerns
- The family plans to move abroad or be away for a long period during the trial
- Another child from the same multiple birth (e.g. twins) is already taking part in the trial
- The child is currently unwell with a significant illness (though joining may be delayed until they recover) (confirm with trial site)
