Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged between 40 and 85 years old
• People whose native language is French
• People who are affiliated with the French Social Security system
• People who have been assessed at a University Memory Clinic and have a mild or major memory or thinking disorder linked to Alzheimer's disease (based on specific medical assessment standards)
• People diagnosed with a condition called Mild Cognitive Lewy body disease (based on McKeith criteria)
• People diagnosed with a condition called Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration (based on Rascovsky 2011 criteria)
• People diagnosed with a condition called Basal Ganglia Disease (based on Armstrong's criteria)
• People diagnosed with a condition called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (based on Höglinger criteria)

Who may not be able to join:

• People with an intellectual disability or who are under legal guardianship
• People who have already been diagnosed with dementia before this trial
• People who have or have had another brain condition not listed in the inclusion criteria
• People who have had a severe head injury
• People who have epilepsy that occurred before a stroke and still requires treatment
• People who have Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis (or similar conditions)
• People who have or have had a brain tumour, or who have received radiation therapy to the brain
• People who have or have had schizophrenia or psychosis
• People who have or have had a psychiatric condition that required a hospital stay of more than 2 days in a specialist psychiatric setting
• People for whom an MRI scan is not medically safe (confirm with trial site)
• People with another serious health condition where life expectancy is less than 1 year
• People who drink more than 3 alcoholic drinks per day, or who have a history of alcohol withdrawal syndrome
• People with a history of opiate or cocaine addiction, or opiate withdrawal syndrome
• People with serious kidney problems (on dialysis or with very low kidney function)
• People with serious liver problems (based on specific blood test results — confirm with trial site)
• People with serious breathing problems that require oxygen therapy
• People with serious heart failure that affects their ability to lie flat (needing more than 2 pillows to sleep)
• People with ongoing disturbances to alertness or consciousness (confirm with trial site)
• People with cancer that is affecting the nervous system (paraneoplastic syndrome)
• People taking certain medications, including gold salts, D-Penicillamine, or other treatments known to affect thinking or memory
• People under legal guardianship or curatorship, or who are restricted under public law
• People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
