Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older
- You are able to read and speak in English
- You have been diagnosed with anorexia nervosa (AN) or atypical anorexia nervosa according to standard psychiatric guidelines (DSM-5), confirmed at the time of entering a higher level of care (such as inpatient or residential treatment)
- You are currently in a higher level of care and preparing to move to regular outpatient care, or you have already moved to outpatient care within the last 3 months
- Your current BMI is 18.5 or higher, or it is expected to reach that level by the time you are discharged
- Your BMI increased by at least 0.5 units while you were in the higher level of care
- You are able to give permission for the study team to contact one of your current physical or mental health providers during the study
- You are willing to take part in weekly check-ins (including weight monitoring) and to have your therapy sessions audio or video recorded during the study
- You have access to a smartphone and/or computer so you can take part in therapy and assessments remotely
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently considered medically too unwell to receive outpatient care
- You are currently pregnant
- You have ever been diagnosed with a primary psychotic disorder or bipolar I disorder (confirm with trial site)
- You currently have a substance use disorder according to standard psychiatric guidelines (DSM-5)
- You are already receiving outpatient therapy that is very similar in content to the therapy used in this study (confirm with trial site)
