Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 years or older
  • People of any sex or gender
  • People who are able to give informed consent to participate
  • People who can read or understand English or Spanish
  • People who have been diagnosed with untreated Non-Hodgkin or Hodgkin lymphoma that requires at least 6 cycles of chemotherapy, and whose treating doctors plan to use one of these treatment regimens: R-CHOP or a similar regimen, BR, or BV-AVD / ABVD / a checkpoint inhibitor combined with AVD
  • People whose general physical functioning is at a level where they are either fully active or have only minor limitations (confirm with trial site regarding exact fitness level requirements)
  • People whose treating cancer specialist has given written approval to participate
  • People receiving chemotherapy at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (including its satellite or network sites) or University of Miami Hospital / UHealth Tower
  • People who have access to the internet through a smartphone, tablet, or computer
  • People who are willing to be randomly assigned to either a Mediterranean diet and home-based physical activity program, or a waitlist control group

Who may not be able to join:

  • People under 18 years of age
  • People who are unable to give informed consent
  • People who cannot read or understand English or Spanish
  • People for whom their doctor has determined that changing their diet or doing exercise would be medically unsafe
  • People who are currently following a vegan or ketogenic diet, or who have been eating more than 5 servings of fruit and vegetables per day over the past month
  • People who have already been doing more than 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per week on average over the past month
  • People with a history of dementia or a major psychiatric condition
  • People who have had a stroke, heart attack, or congestive heart failure within the past year
