Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who were proficient in English before their stroke
- People who have had a stroke on the left side of the brain (either a blocked blood vessel or a bleed), confirmed by a brain scan, where the stroke happened either between 1 and 4 months ago, or 6 or more months ago
- People who have been diagnosed with aphasia (a communication difficulty) as a result of their stroke, based on a specific language assessment score
- People who are able to give their own consent to participate, or who have someone else who can give consent on their behalf
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a history of a brain condition other than stroke, such as a brain tumour, multiple sclerosis, or a traumatic brain injury
- People who have a history of a serious psychiatric illness, developmental disorder, or intellectual disability, such as PTSD, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or autism spectrum disorder
- People who are unable to engage with the treatment process during initial test probes, even if their responses are not accurate (confirm with trial site)
- People who have severe vision or hearing loss that has not been corrected, based on what they report and what their medical records show
