Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with prostate cancer confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy) showing a specific type called adenocarcinoma
- Your cancer is classified as either "unfavourable intermediate-risk" or "high-risk" localised prostate cancer (meaning it has not spread beyond the prostate area — confirm specific risk category with trial site)
- You have had a high-powered prostate MRI scan (3 Tesla) within the last 12 months
- You are generally able to carry out daily activities, either fully or with only minor limitations (confirm with trial site)
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- You have a planned hormone therapy treatment (called androgen deprivation therapy) using a drug called triptorelin, with or without bicalutamide — lasting up to 6 months for intermediate-risk, or up to 24 months for high-risk prostate cancer
- All necessary tests and investigations have been completed before joining the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- Your cancer has spread to lymph nodes in the pelvis or to other parts of the body
- Your MRI scan results and biopsy results do not match in a specific way (confirm with trial site)
- You have already been on hormone therapy for more than 60 days before joining
- There are plans to treat your pelvic lymph nodes with radiotherapy as part of your care
- You have had another cancer in the past three years (with some exceptions for certain minor skin cancers or low-grade bladder conditions — confirm with trial site)
- You have previously had radiotherapy to the pelvis
- You have a medical reason why you cannot receive radiotherapy to the pelvis (confirm with trial site)
- You have ever had inflammatory bowel disease at any point in your life
- You have had one or both hips replaced (hip replacement surgery)
- You have had a surgical procedure on your prostate called a TURP within 6 months of your planned start date for radiotherapy
- You are currently taking part in another clinical trial for prostate cancer treatment
