Who might be able to join this trial:
For people with Anorexia Nervosa:
- You have been diagnosed with anorexia nervosa based on standard medical guidelines (DSM-5)
- You are between 13 and 35 years old (including those ages)
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 13 and 17.5
- You (and your parent or guardian, if you are under 18) are willing to sign a consent form and attend all required appointments and tests
- You have not taken any psychiatric medications in the past month
For people with Bulimia Nervosa:
- You have been diagnosed with bulimia nervosa based on standard medical guidelines (DSM-5)
- You are between 13 and 35 years old (including those ages)
- You (and your parent or guardian, if you are under 18) are willing to sign a consent form and attend all required appointments and tests
- You have not taken any psychiatric medications in the past month
Who may not be able to join:
- You have also been diagnosed with certain other mental health conditions, such as major depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality disorder, intellectual disability, or drug or alcohol dependence
- You have received a brain stimulation treatment called rTMS or electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) in the past six months
- You currently have serious thoughts of suicide or have recently attempted suicide
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have any medical reason why you cannot have an MRI scan (for example, a metal implant in your body) (confirm with trial site)
- The trial team considers you unsuitable to participate for any other reason (confirm with trial site)
