For patients:

  • You have had a stroke on the right side of the brain (your first stroke), confirmed by a brain scan, and it happened less than 1 year ago
  • You are right-handed
  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • French is your first/native language
  • You are covered by a French social security plan
  • You are willing and able to give written consent to participate

For healthy volunteers (control subjects):

  • You have never been diagnosed with a stroke
  • You are right-handed
  • You are 18 years of age or older and are a similar age (within 10 years) to a patient in the study
  • French is your first/native language
  • You are covered by a French social security plan
  • You are willing and able to give written consent to participate

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have significant difficulty understanding language, based on a specific language test score (confirm with trial site)
  • You have been diagnosed with dementia
  • You are unable to read or write
  • You have severe difficulty with speech clarity (severe dysarthria)
  • You have a history of a psychiatric condition that required more than two months of specialist hospital care
  • You have a history of a brain injury
  • You have a serious vision or hearing problem (hearing loss greater than 40 dB HL)
