Who might be able to join this trial:

  • For people with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease, both the patient and their main carer must give oral consent

Who may not be able to join:

  • People with an MMSE memory test score below 15
  • People who have had a known COVID-19 infection within the 6 months before joining
  • People who are not enrolled in the national health insurance system
  • People under a legal protection arrangement, such as curatorship or guardianship
  • Women who are pregnant, in labour, or breastfeeding
  • People who have a pacemaker, as this interferes with one of the study measurements
  • Adults who are unable to give consent or complete cognitive (thinking and memory) tests
  • People who regularly smoke more than 4 cigarettes per day
  • People who have type 1 or type 2 diabetes
  • People with an active or ongoing ear, nose, or throat condition
  • People taking medications that are known to affect the sense of taste
  • People whose brain MRI shows that their cognitive difficulties are caused by something other than the conditions being studied (with some minor vascular changes accepted — confirm with trial site)
