Who might be able to join this trial:
For all participants:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- Women of childbearing age who are using effective contraception
- People who are willing and able to sign a consent form
- People who do not have general or whole-body health conditions that could affect thinking or memory
For people with Alzheimer's disease (early or late onset):
- People experiencing a gradually worsening memory condition, which may or may not affect other thinking abilities
- People with a CDR (a standard measure of dementia severity) score of 0.5 or 1, meaning mild or very mild impairment
- People whose spinal fluid (CSF) test results suggest Alzheimer's disease
- People whose recent brain MRI scan shows no significant lesions or damage
For healthy control participants:
- People aged 50 or older who have no memory complaints and score normally on standard memory tests
- People with no general health conditions that could affect thinking ability over the follow-up period
Who may not be able to join:
- People with an active, ongoing, or poorly managed psychiatric condition (as assessed by the trial investigator)
- People with a serious, severe, or unstable health condition that could interfere with the trial's assessments (as assessed by the trial investigator)
- People with a current autoimmune disease
- People who have any medical reason they cannot safely have a 3T MRI scan
- People with a known or suspected history of severe alcohol misuse or drug misuse within the past 5 years
- People whose MRI scan shows vascular, inflammatory, or other lesions that could affect diagnosis
- People without health insurance
- People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy within the two-year follow-up period
- People who have been diagnosed with, or are suspected to have, another cause of dementia besides Alzheimer's disease, including other brain-degenerating conditions
- People under legal protection orders or court-appointed guardianship or curatorship
