Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You had some level of physical disability before your stroke (needing help with some daily activities), and this had been the case for at least 3 months before your stroke
  • You arrived at the study hospital within 24 hours of when you were last seen or felt completely normal
  • You have been diagnosed with an ischemic stroke (a stroke caused by a blockage, not bleeding)
  • A scan (CT or MRI) has shown a blockage in a specific major blood vessel in your brain (the internal carotid artery or a main branch of the middle cerebral artery)
  • Your brain scan results meet a minimum score showing enough healthy brain tissue remaining (confirm with trial site)
  • Your stroke symptoms are at least moderate in severity, based on a standard medical assessment (confirm with trial site)
  • You or a legally authorised representative (such as a family member) are able to give consent to participate

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have been diagnosed with a terminal cancer or another terminal illness at the time of your stroke
  • It is not possible for the medical team to assess how well you were functioning physically before your stroke during your hospital stay
  • Your disability before the stroke was considered temporary by the medical team — for example, you were recovering from a general illness or a physical injury at the time

Important: Always verify eligibility with the trial site directly before applying.
