Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older
- People who have been diagnosed with localised prostate cancer (cancer that has not spread beyond the prostate), confirmed by a tissue sample test
- People who are currently on active surveillance (monitoring the cancer rather than treating it immediately)
- People who have at least one of the following factors that may increase the risk of the cancer progressing: a diagnosis of favourable-intermediate risk prostate cancer, obesity (a body mass index of 30 or higher), or self-identifying as Black or African American
- People who have no plans to undergo an invasive prostate cancer treatment in the 12 weeks after joining the trial
- People who are able to understand the study and are willing to give their formal consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have already received invasive treatments for prostate cancer, such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or hormonal therapy
- People whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body, or who have another active cancer (other than a common type of skin cancer called basal cell carcinoma), or who are currently being treated for another cancer
- People who are already doing any high-intensity exercise at the time of joining (confirm with trial site)
- People who have unstable or poorly controlled long-term medical conditions that the trial team considers too high-risk for exercise, such as unstable heart conditions, uncontrolled diabetes, or bone involvement from cancer that raises the risk of fractures
- People who the study team considers unlikely to follow the study procedures, based on a history of missing medical appointments (three or more no-shows in six months) or not responding to contact attempts during recruitment (three or more unreturned contacts)
- People who do not speak English and are unable to complete the study surveys
