Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have glaucoma that is not well controlled with medication and who are scheduled to have a glaucoma drainage device (a small implant to help drain fluid from the eye) placed, either alone or combined with cataract surgery
- People whose eye anatomy is suitable for the drainage device to be placed in specific positions inside the eye (confirm with trial site)
- People aged 18 years or older
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a pre-existing eye condition affecting the clear front layer of the eye (cornea), or who have previously had a corneal transplant
- People who currently have, or have previously had, a specific implant called a Cypass Micro-Stent
- People who had a previous glaucoma drainage device, Xen Gel Stent, or Preserflo MicroShunt removed less than 6 months before the planned surgery
- People who currently have a glaucoma drainage device, Xen Gel Stent, or Preserflo MicroShunt already in place
- People who have had certain types of glaucoma surgery (trabeculectomy or minimally invasive glaucoma surgery) within the past 6 months
- People who have a certain type of artificial lens already implanted in the front chamber of the eye
- People who have certain specific eye or health conditions, including nanophthalmos (a very small eye), uncontrolled eye inflammation (uveitis), silicone oil in the eye, Sturge-Weber syndrome, or other conditions that raise pressure in the veins around the eye
- People who are unwilling or unable to give consent, who would not accept being randomly assigned to a treatment group, or who are unable to attend the required follow-up visits
- People who have no light perception in the eye being studied, or whose other eye has very poor vision (below a certain threshold)
- People who need glaucoma surgery combined with other eye procedures such as a corneal transplant or retinal surgery, or who are expected to need additional eye surgery
