  • People who are currently using a type of medicine known as a GLP-1 receptor agonist (a class of medication sometimes used for diabetes or weight management) at the time of joining
  • People who are currently receiving certain types of chemotherapy or antibody-drug treatments (confirm with trial site for specific medicines)
  • People who have major health conditions or physical limitations that would make it unsafe or impractical to lose weight, reduce food intake, or increase physical activity
  • People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study period
  • People who are currently using hormones for gender affirmation
  • For the stool sample part of the study only: people who have taken antibiotics, antifungal, or anti-parasitic medicines by mouth or through a drip in the past 6 months
  • For the stool sample part of the study only: people who have a surgical opening in the abdomen for waste removal (such as an ileostomy or colostomy)
  • For the stool sample part of the study only: people who have an inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
  • People who expect to have a major surgical procedure within 3 months of joining the study (breast reconstruction surgery is an exception and is allowed)
