Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a new (not previously treated) high-risk prostate cancer that has not spread to other parts of the body, confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy)
- People whose cancer meets at least one of the following high-risk features: the tumour has grown beyond the prostate based on physical examination and/or MRI scan; the cancer cells look very abnormal under a microscope (aggressiveness score of 4 or higher on a specialist grading scale); or a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test result above 20 ng/mL at the time of diagnosis
- People who are well enough to receive either robotic surgery or radiation therapy (with or without hormone therapy), based on a standard health fitness scale (score of 0 or 1)
- People who are living in the Netherlands
- People who are able to read and understand Dutch
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose prostate cancer is a type other than the most common form (adenocarcinoma)
- People who were diagnosed or treated at a hospital outside the Netherlands
- People whose initial treatment plan includes a specific type of hormone therapy known as androgen receptor targeted agents (ARTA)
